NFL fans have mixed reactions to Patriots shopping #3 pick in 2024 NFL Draft

The New England Patriots might continue with a Tom Brady disciple, after all. With Jacoby Brissett currently on pace to start in 2024, the Patriots declared that they were open to trading out of the third overall spot. According to Ari Meirov on X (formerly Twitter), team executive Eliot Wolf said they were "open for business" but could still stand pat if the correct offer isn't presented.

This set of a plethora of responses ran the gamut. Here's what was said:

Several responses pointed to Drake Maye in one way or another:

"Don’t draft Maye," one said.
"The Patriots are waiting to see if the commanders reach on Jayden at 2 and then they can take Maye. If Maye goes at 2 they 100% trade down. unless they get a crazy offer they’ll trade down sooner," another said.

Fans also asked Tom Brady's former team to move in ways that would only upset others:

"Don’t even think about moving off 3 unless it’s up to 1!!" A fan demanded.
"Don't trade it and don't draft JJ." One said emphatically.

The Minnesota Vikings were the most commonly guessed potential trade partner as insider Tony Pauline claims the Broncos might offer the best haul.

Former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick takes first job following exit

Bill Belichick was thought by some to be taking a year off from the sport after failing to secure a job following the end of Week 18. However, the former New England Patriots head coach for two decades has secured at least some short-term work in connection with the 2024 NFL Draft.

The head coach will be a draft analyst on the Pat McAfee Show. According to Yahoo Sports, the announcement was made on Wednesday during an interview on the program with an oddly smiling Belichick. Of course, as long-time fans recall vividly, the often-scowling coach was seen in war rooms with a focused, determined intention for the event.

In comparison, his demeanor now raises questions about the type of attitude the new analyst will adopt in a potentially new career.
